Counterparty is a platform for user-created assets on Bitcoin. It’s a protocol, set of specifications, and an API that lets users create and trade assets on top of Bitcoin’s blockchain.
Launched in 2014, Counterparty is an older project that pre-dates Ethereum and integrates with the Bitcoin blockchain, bringing asset creation into the Bitcoin ecosystem.
